Daily Prompt: Success!
What is a life well lived to you?
http://dailypost.wordpress.com/2012/11/22/daily-prompt-success/
This is a deep one. Let’s see… what is a life well lived – to me.
I think a ‘life well lived’ would be a life where opportunities have come my way and I’ve taken them. A life where I’ve given things a go. Tried it. Liked it and sometimes not, but I’ve given it a go!
I’ve had the good fortune to meet a good man. A man with a difference. My second husband. He’s an adventurer, a thrill seeker and an explorer. He’s got me out of my comfort zone so many times and on a few occasions, I’ve trembled from head to toe. Glad I did it with some and others, I’ll never do again, but I’ve given it a go.
So, I’m talking about on our honeymoon we went to Bright in Victoria because it was autumn and I love the colour of autumn leaves. We get there and he tells me that he has a surprise for me. I’m curious but he won’t tell me a thing. We drive out and head towards Mount Buffalo and I see a small airfield. Oh, I say, a helicopter ride around the mountains!
Nope, comes back to me with a big grin.
Now I’m confused. What else is there? I ask.
Wait and see. Comes the reply.
We park the car and head towards a shed where a man comes out. He tells us to wait there a moment.
I look around and can’t see anything until the man comes out with an Ultralight!
My God, are you serious?
One for you and one for me is his reply.
After saying my prayers and believing that this is the last day of my life, I climb in and have the ride of my life. The closest thing I can imagine to being a bird – specially when they switch the engine off!
Pure, pure Magic! I can say that with a smile on my face, because it was.
He’s pushed by boundries so many times it’s not funny, but you know what? I can do it – it’s just that I never thought about doing them.
So, when I’m sitting in my preverbal rocking chair holding hands with him, it will be with a smile on my face and thinking of all the ‘good things’ we’ve done together.
I will truly be able to say, I lived a life well lived!
Thank you Hon!

Good grief! You’d have to drag me over, strap me in, and push! You go! Enjoy to the fullest.
WoW! Sounds like quite the adventure. We could all use a little push in life.
You’re right. We could all use a little push in life. I tend to get them on a regular basis – but I don’t mind at all. If I had minded, I would have missed out on so much…
I’ll bet that was one of the most fantastic things ever. I was scared when I just parachuted over the water…. this would be amazing! Congrats!
Thank you and yes it was one of the most fantastic things ever. I can still think of it with a smile on my face!
Parachuting over water would have to be scary, wouldn’t it?
a microlight flight must be breath taking! I a dore the movies of Yann Arthus-Bertrand
It really was breathtaking, specially when the engine was switched off. Just the wind on your face and a bird’s eye view of the surrounds!
